There is always something to do. If you are looking for a pleasant atmosphere, you are in the right place on Terschelling. Events are organised all year round, of which the best known are the Oerol theatre and street festival in June ("the island as a stage") and the sloop and sailboat race from Harlingen to Terschelling.

The yachting harbour in West Terschelling also provides a pleasant, maritime atmosphere; about 450 ships can find a berth here. Perhaps you already saw the same sailing ships from the ferry on the passage, lasting about an hour and a half, from Harlingen.
